Classics Book Club to Discuss The Sheltering Sky
PALMDALE – The Palmdale City Library’s Classics Book Club will discuss the novel The Sheltering Sky by Paul Bowles, Monday, July 22, at 7 p.m., at the library, located at 700 E. Palmdale Blvd.

Originally published in 1949, The Sheltering Sky was the debut novel of American composer Paul Bowles, who went on to become a celebrated author and spent most of his life living in Morocco. The novel, which follows three Americans on their journey through the North African desert following World War II, remains Bowles’ best known work and examines how people interact with and respond to cultures different from their own.
