DryTown Water Park to Add Thrilling New Slide Tower in 2026
PALMDALE, CA — Exciting changes are on the horizon for DryTown Water Park, as the City of Palmdale announces a major expansion set to open next summer. Approved unanimously by the Palmdale City Council during their meeting on June 3, the water park will soon be home to a dynamic new three-slide tower designed to deliver high-octane fun for guests of all ages.

This exhilarating new attraction will feature:

  • Freefall Slide – A heart-pounding, high-speed plunge for the ultimate thrill-seekers

  • AquaTube – A twisting, turning adventure through translucent tubes

  • Pool Sider – A smooth and fast body slide perfect for splash-filled excitement

Construction is scheduled to begin later this year, with the new attraction on track to open in time for the 2026 summer season. This addition is part of the City’s continued commitment to enhancing recreational opportunities that are both family-friendly and sustainable. The slides will incorporate modern water and energy-saving technologies, reinforcing Palmdale’s efforts toward environmentally conscious development. The Parks and Recreation Master Plan, completed in 2024, identified the expansion of DryTown as a top community priority. The plan also revealed that DryTown was the most popular and beloved facility in the City’s entire parks system.

“This is another exciting milestone for Palmdale,” said Mayor Richard J. Loa. “We are proud to invest in recreational amenities that create memorable experiences for our families and support our growing community. The new slide tower will not only boost tourism, but also provide a safe, inclusive environment for fun.”

This expansion marks another step in the City’s mission to offer high-quality entertainment that strengthens community bonds and supports tourism and economic growth.

“DryTown is one of our City’s treasures, and this new addition makes it even better,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “We’re creating more opportunities for families to enjoy time together, and I’m especially proud that this project reflects our values of sustainability and community enrichment.”
