| Lancaster’s Blooming: The California Poppy Festival is Back! |
Lancaster, CA – As wildflowers bloom and the air fills with the scent of spring, the City of Lancaster is gearing up for the 2024 California Poppy Festival. This year, attendees are in for a heart-pounding new addition to the festivities: the thrilling Globe of Death Squad! Held at the AV Fair & Event Center, this event promises family fun and an adrenaline rush like never before.
The California Poppy Festival, originally conceived to coincide with the spring poppy bloom in 1992, has since become a cherished tradition for locals and visitors alike. As home to some of California's most stunning wildflower displays, Lancaster takes pride in honoring its state flower through this vibrant celebration.
"We're thrilled to welcome everyone back to the California Poppy Festival," said Mayor R. Rex Parris. "It's a testament to the beauty of our region and the spirit of our community. This year, we're excited to introduce new acts and reunite with long-loved traditions, offering attendees a truly unforgettable experience in 2024."
From April 19 to April 21, 2024, festival-goers can expect a plethora of attractions, including food and shopping from local vendors, exhilarating carnival rides, live music, the 4-H livestock show, and a refreshing beer garden. With over 200 vendors showcasing their wares, there's something for everyone at this beloved event.

The event’s location, the AV Fair & Event Center, is conveniently located just under 15 miles east of the famous Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve and provides the perfect backdrop for this celebration of nature's beauty. Visitors can easily access the reserve by following Avenue I from the Antelope Valley freeway or the City of Lancaster or by taking Lake Hughes Road from Interstate 5 north to Avenue I.
