Hospital Honors Its History with Visit from First Twins Born in 1955 |
In a heartwarming celebration of legacy and community, Antelope Valley Medical Center marked its 70th anniversary by inviting a very special pair of guests: the first set of twins ever born at the hospital. Now celebrating their own 70th birthday, one of the twins returned to the place where their lives began, joining the hospital’s leadership team and staff members in commemorating seven decades of compassionate care.
Born in 1955, just days after the hospital first opened its doors, Alan and Bryan Herring were the first twins delivered at then called Antelope Valley Hospital. Their birth marked a milestone in the hospital’s early history, and Alan’s return today symbolized the enduring connection between the hospital and the community it serves.
“Inviting back the first twins born at our hospital is a powerful reminder of the deep roots we’ve established in this community,” said Edward Mirzabegian, Chief Executive Officer of Antelope Valley Medical Center. “As we continue celebrating our 70 years of service, we honor the generations of families who have entrusted us with their care.”
The celebration included a birthday cake, lunch, and a tour of the hospital’s modern facilities, including a visit to the floor he was born on.
