The City of Palmdale has Flexible Part-Time Positions Now Open with Parks and Recreation
The City of Palmdale is launching an exciting recruitment drive for part-time Parks and Recreation positions that offer competitive wages and flexible scheduling, perfect for those seeking entry-level positions, students and those looking to get more involved in the community.

“These opportunities represent the perfect gateway to professional development while making a real difference in our City,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencourt. “We’re hiring talented and dedicated individuals who are ready to energize our summer programming and create unforgettable experiences for our residents.”

The City is currently hiring for two positions:
DryTown program leader positions are ideal for those who are seeking entry-level work to develop their professional career skills. Lifeguard positions are ideal for those seeking an energetic work environment and a rewarding level of responsibility working with the public. Program Leaders start at $19.42 per hour and plan, coordinate and conduct recreational activities for children and adults at community events, sports leagues, community centers and DryTown Water Park. Applicants must be 16 years old by July 1, 2026.
Lifeguards start at $20.38 per hour and help prevent accidents by enforcing safety policies at City swimming pools and DryTown Water Park. Applicants must be 17 years old by July 1, 2026. Applicants must also possess a lifeguard training certificate and pass a pre-screening swim test.

Recruitment for lifeguards and DryTown program leaders begins Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2026. Recruitment for program leaders at other facilities begins Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2026. In the coming months, additional parks and recreation summer job opportunities will open up, so please stay tuned for more information in early February.
